Azcapotzalco has a great historical and cultural value, due to the fact that it has a legacy that dates back to pre-Hispanic periods due to the presence of the Señorío Tepaneca, as well as an important development during the viceroyalty with the introduction of the Dominican Order, in addition to the relevance that some properties they had during the armed movements of the War of Independence and the Mexican Revolution. The influences and events that have occurred are reflected in its artistic and architectural composition. This text first makes a historical sketch of that site before the arrival of the Spanish conquerors, referring to the Tepaneca Lordship that was settled in the place, where the Dominican religious order was later established with the purpose of evangelizing. With the arrival of the Spanish in the city of Mexico-Tenochtitlán, important religious buildings were erected for the professing of religion and the Christianization of the natives. The most important ecclesiastical enclosure in said demarcation is the Parish of the Holy Apostles Felipe and Santiago, which, throughout the document, is described from the historical, architectural, artistic and cultural point of view, extolling the importance it has for the Chintololos. who are proud to have such a precious jewel of religious architecture. Throughout its history it has undergone transformations, modifications, spoils and alterations; however, almost all of it has been preserved and today it is a sample of the tangible heritage of Azcapotzalco, located in the center of the delegation and framed by the vegetation of the area.
