The title of this review responds to the theoretical reading of the book The culture of capitalism, referring to the historical study of the sociocultural tradition of individualism in modern England. Its author is the English sociologist, historian and anthropologist Macarlane Professor at the University of Cambridge, England. Prior to the analysis of his theoretical-methodological contributions to the social sciences and, in particular, to historical research, it is necessary to mention that the different works that capitulate the book were developed by its author at different times since 1977. The first English edition is from 1987 and was in charge of Basil Blackwell, Oxford United Kingdom, translated into Spanish by Agustín Bárcenas to be published in 1993 by the Fondo de Cultura Económica (FCE) of Mexico.
