The current urban-real estate boom in Mexico City, started in the 2000-2006 administration and continued in the following ones, has resulted in a new urban design in various parts of the metropolis, which coexists, however, with the traditional city. . This work is based on the recognition of the need for more and better economic activity and, in this sense, the construction sector is highly generator of jobs; However, from our perspective, most of the projects developed in the city, of a high economic and technological-constructive level, respond more to the interests of private, national or foreign real estate capital, than to try to improve the needs for better services. , infrastructure, for the majorities. These practices, we propose, respond to the predominant neoliberal economic model in the world and generator of great urban-architectural transformations in the cities of Mexico and the world. In this contribution we seek to demonstrate why we question this dynamic and which are the most favored social groups and which are the most affected.
