Abstract

In his article, Ariel Rodríguez raises questions regarding the problems that recent specialized historiography presents about the characterization and origin of the "modern city" Privilegia, for this, "the literature that refers to the European and North American case" (p. 154).As he points out in the presentation of the text, as well as in the conclusions, it is not proposed to define the modern city, but to identify a series of problems related to its emergence and development.
