Peer Review
Anuario de Espacios Urbanos, Historia, Cultura y Diseño is a peer-reviewed, double-blind scientific journal; that is, in all cases the mutual anonymity of the authors and reviewers is preserved throughout the review process.
The Editorial Committee of the Anuario de Espacios Urbanos, Historia, Cultura y Diseño carries out an initial review of the works it receives in terms of thematic affinity, compliance with the editorial standards and minimum quality criteria of the magazine.
Texts that pass this initial review are submitted to a strict double-blind peer review system, which means that the mutual anonymity of authors and reviewers is reserved.
The referees are researchers who may belong to any academic institution, national or foreign, and collaborate in the arbitration process of articles related to their field of specialization, in which they have a proven track record through works published in books and prestigious specialized magazines.
The reviewers evaluate in writing, in formats established for this purpose, the relevance of the work in accordance with the nature of the journal and the scientific validity of the texts, based on their internal coherence, their originality, their contribution to the advancement of research and the appropriate and up-to-date use of specialized bibliography. The evaluators will deliver their opinion within a period of four weeks.
Each article is initially sent to two reviewers, and at least one is from outside the AEUHCD.
The possible results of the evaluation are: Publishable without changes, Publishable with formal changes, Publishable with substantive changes, and Not publishable.
In case of discrepancy between the two initial opinions, the text will be sent to a third evaluation.
If the work is conditioned to make major changes, the author must send a letter explaining the changes that have been made underlined in yellow, before receiving a definitive answer.
As for the texts of the rest of the sections that make up the magazine (Reviews, Essays, Notes, Interviews and Tributes), they will be submitted to the opinion of a member of the Editorial Committee.
Regarding the articles proposed for publication by AEUHCD researchers, these will be evaluated by researchers external to the Center.
The Editorial Committee of the journal is responsible for the opinion process, always using the double-blind formula, and the final decision on the publication of the texts falls on it. The Editorial Committee is responsible for settling cases of controversy and exception.
The following are the particular characteristics of arbitration by section of the journal:

Reviews and Essays: the text is submitted to an opinion of a member of the Editorial Committee, which must be favorable.
Critical Notes: the favorable opinion of a member of the Editorial Committee is required.
